I have the ASUS Scar 16 G634JY and find myself in a similar situation. I received the 328 update notification through MyASUS, but my account on the website still shows version 325. I’m always apprehensive about upgrading the BIOS without being aware of any potential issues, lets try to find some answers

I really wish Asus told us exactly what they are changing in the bios update instead of us having to try figure out if its going to mess with our systems or not. It's really not a difficult thing to do, it is not not rocket science people.
Engineers we are releasing a bios update to address issue x and y. Here is the change log.
Website content updaters, ok great lets take that change log and post it on the site.
Especially when its a critical bios update and all you say is Optimize system performance that's not critical.

I've always been an ASUS user for DIY space but my partner tends to opt for MSI in the laptop space.

Most vendors do similar, but MSI doesn't give ANY indication here there or otherwise. ASUS tend to give notes if there's critical fixes, anything related to performance you can probably understand as may contain tweaks to CPU, MRC settings or things that they may not want other vendors to know.

Yeah I suppose that where we tweakers, overclockers, gamers come in to figure out what they changed.
I have not done a code comparison between 325 and 328 as yet but did some quick tests this morning.
3Dmark Timespy cpu score down by 700odd points. from 19300 odd to 18500 odd. CPU max temp was definitely lower around 90 max.
Cinebench still around 35k (with undervolting).
Gaming wise still averaging 5.1Ghz on all cores overall the same performance.
I wonder if it's to address the issues with I9 13 and 14 gen cpu's. Though I thought that was more to do with the desktop variants.

Yeah, this thread should not even exist if ASUS provided useful infos... sigh...

Well if it's just performance improvements why don't you just test performance? It's a win win...

Critical fixes or security ones are normally listed...I just think it's a non issue..

I used the 328 after Asus had me buy a new laptop. Old laptop was beyond repair. Received new laptop. Did the 3hr update of windows and myasus. Last thing in line was bios update. The 328. At first it went wrong. But luckily with the unplug solution I was able to contibue the update. To be sure I did a bios ez utility update on the bios. Abd all looked fine. Was playing games. Next day I wacht to turn on my laptop. And the bios is not even loading. Only the keyboard lit up and the battery and power led. But 2 days later still no booting. I had 3 times that the fans were going full speed. Left the laptop on for hours. Unplugged it while night. This is my 2nd laptop of Asus in 5 weeks. I hope i dunt need a new one again. Is it possible an 9nsite engineer is able to fix it? Or whole mb need to be replaced again. I'm not so happy anymore after 5 weeks without laptop. My eyes hurt looking at my phone.

Ouch...

I did the update and everything went fine on mine. I keep BIOS undervolting to -40mV, I had 4800MHz ram (now 5600 modules, after 328).

I installed 328 earlier today, all good, for those that are worried.
