I reached out to customer service through "my asus" app and the person just said go into bios and restore defaults save and exit.
I have tried that and nothing still have the problem. My issue is when gaming the keyboard would stop responding for 1-5 mins after updating to bios ver. 316. and this happens randomly, when gaming and the problem is that there is no consistency. I did not have this issue on ver. 315. Please Asus fix this even though the new bios 316 said to fix keyboard but seems to brick your guys laptop. I've this laptop only a month. If anyone have the same issue please comment below with any solutions if not Asus need to come up with a new bios.

Make a hard reset of the bios check for your model how the things stay i think i must off from the charger and you hold the turn on button for 30-60 second and maybe that can fix the problem
Also read mode information about how to make a hard reset becouse it can delete your data and maybe will be needed to remove your ssd before this operation

Hello, are you still having the same issue?Besides that, any important change you notice when updating to Bios 316?
I want to get that model soon, so I wonder if the latest Bios updates and the laptop itself are worthy. What is your general opinion on this model? Excluding the keyboard issue you had.
Cheers.

I have the latest bios update... I was hoping it would include a fix, but my keyboard still locks up just like his does... totally random. I use the Amroury Crate app, go to the Device and then the ROG STRIX G18 menu item and then select REFRESH... this reloads some items that apparently the Strix G18 has shut down, including the keyboard, because after that I have the use of the keyboard again, but since this is a GAMING computer, it is clearly a LOW BUDGET POS, because you're going to lose EVERY game that you use the keyboard with. At first I thought it was related to power management, but I shut down power management... but you never know about these companies from the other side of the world, their priority it just to make money off unsuspecting people in other countries.

Thanks for the reply. Well, I'm not a gamer but that is certainly unacceptable, it shouldn't happen in the first place. I wonder, did you play too much with its software, like uninstalling Armoury Crate for G-helper or undervolting/overclocking it too aggressively? I'll use Armoury crate from the beginning and perhaps Intel XTU if I finally decide to go for this model, nothing crazy.
It's a shame because nowadays I fell there are so many buggy/faulty products being released to the market without a proper testing prior to the launch (their lab testings don't seem to correlate with real life usage), like if they don't double check everything, at least that's how it feels... And it's coming from so many software and hardware companies.

No, this has been acting this way from the day I picked it up.
