Rog Strix scar 18 G834JY BIOS wont update

hello

just got a Rog Strix scar 18 G834JY and im having issues with bios update.

When i started the laptop for the first time, i had to setup windows and do bunch of updates. at some stage the laptop retarted ans went into the bios saying its going to update but with a warning related to Bitlocker that i should have my bitlocker code because bitlocker encryption is detected.

So far while the setup i didnt get any notification related to bitlocker so as i was not sure whats going on, i refused the bios update, computer rebooted and wanted me to update bios again so i refused for second time.

then updates kept going on.

when everything was done, i went into bitlcker and desactivated it as i dont specialy need it.

then i went into MyAsus and saw that bios update is pending so i clicked on update.

that has restarted my laptop for the update but the issue is that it is not going into the bios to do the update, instead its just reboot the laptop, thats it.

i have tried multiple times, for same result, i also downloaded the update utility from asus, installed it and had exactly the sma behavior. i have bios v312 actualy, and its v321 to update.

any idea why its doing this ? thanks for the feedback

Update the BIOS from the BIOS, not from Windows.

not possible, asus do not supply raw bios file, only .exe with auto install from windows or from MyAsus, and the bios is basic, no options to direct update from it, even in adavanced mode.

I have a version with a 16" screen and there is an option in the BIOS, probably for you as well.

ok thank you, ive got the raw file but what do i do with this now? in my bios there is no EZ flash utility even in adavnced mode.

figured it out finaly, it was hidden in a list, had to use keyboard, wont reach it with mouse... thanks for the help
