Rog Strix Laptop freezing on startup.

Got this three months ago for school and at first the audio would randomly switch. Then it would crash after ten minutes of use, now I cant even load into my laptop. All I get is the “swoosh” sound and see the “Republic of Gamers” and the icon with a paused loading circle…

keyboard is lighting up red, same with led strip. And the battery icon is flashing on and off red.

A 3000$ well spent….

Hi,

1: go to UEFI, second tab, and select "Asus System Diagnostics": if you cannot pass this test then please contact Asus support for warranty.

2: If you can pass "Asus system diagnostics test" (good news!), then you may want to perform a full reset of your laptop.

In this case I suggest to use "Asus Cloud Recovery" from UEFI:

-it can be done over ethernet or wifi

-you should reset your UEFI to "optimized default" before starting cloud recovery

Please note "Asus Cloud recovery" is a long process, it will take more than one hour even if connected to a fast fiber network.

Warning: of course ALL current data on your SSD will be LOST so don't forget to save your data

Kind regards

Problem can be from so much things .... Even the problem can be somewhere else not in the laptop

So in this case first thing you can try is to reinstall the Windows and do some stability test if you can't install windows and your laptop dont find the SSD drive you have a hardware problem also if the laptop freez when you make a instalation again you can have a hardware problem but you cant diagnosed the laptop whitout some test the problems can be too many

Thing is the laptop freezes before I can try anything like that. I cant even get it into safemode without it freezing or reset it without it freezing. I can literally do nothing with it… well I can use it as a flashlight i guess.

Well if your laptop is at that stage and it's barely 2 months old take it your Asus dealer/service centre or where you purchased it? There are no miracles in life but your laptop is under warranty and nobody on this forum will be able to fix it for you. Take it to the experts and let them decide if it's something repairable or you need to get a new laptop at no cost. What are you waiting for?

Unfortunately I cant do this. Laptop crashes before I can get there. I can only load up BIOS Utility - EZ Mode

I see that I have an outdated BIOS right now (BIOS: 318 right now) which (I hope) is the only problem. But theres no way for me to update it cause I have no other computer to use..

I am a dip twang. Advanced does open up. Ill try everything you said and hopefully it works out. Thanks for the possible solution.
