ROG Strix GL702VM Trackpad, Asus GameFirst 4 Virus!

Is anyone else getting intermittent right button not giving a menu popup occasionally? My laptop stand is angled quit vertically so could the contacts for the right click slip underneath?

The Virus issue was discovered after being plagued by the "PlusNetwork.com" browser hijacker in Chrome.
I used SuperAntiSpyware which found the "PUP.NetFilter/variant" in GameFirst IV folder (see image - Sorry cant embed).

Not sure if I need to return the ROG as its less than a week old back to Amazon, what do u guys think?

I just got my return label and will be sending it back. I did notice now you can pick VS or VSK... I think the K means Kaby Lake? If so I'll maybe wait for that one

You mean picking on Amazon if so please send me the link as I can't see it myself ? I've got until the 31st of January to return or replace this so I might as well wait until the stock rotates to Kaby Lake if that's the case.

Sorry I didn't clarify. This is when you are selecting drivers from Asus site.

Today I learned that my technical support reference regarding this issue hadn't been acted upon with regard to it been escalated to the software development team looking into this issue. I was given a new reference number when I rang today and told that I would have to make another submission to escalate this to the complaints department for them to forward it to the specific department that deals with this and other issues that apparently the support department we have been communicating with don't or can't deal with!
So this means that nothing is being done in my case and I'm just sitting here waiting until I get a reply stating what happens next. I was previously promised that somebody would look into this issue but it seems that was misdirection or incompetence from the previous support operative. We have a limited time before we can get replacements or refunds on this guy is so we need to step up and make sure someone takes ownership of this issue and looks into having these drivers updated.
Microsoft's Windows 10 update on the 11th Sunday proved that it is a driver issue rather than a hardware issue as has been previously stated (by user H2O King89 ) there was a temporary fix with that Microsoft update. Today's support technician did admit that obviously there drivers were only operable upto the windows 10 anniversary update so it may be that they are working on updating all their drivers but we need to keep the pressure up and we need to have that confirmed so I need your help in using the preferred method of making a complaint (rather than just being promised by the support operative it's been looked into) that I was told was the only way to escalate this issue by today's technician.
I was provided with a email link to this web page to make the complaint (https://goo.gl/uXRmLh) but I suppose if you speak to them directly they will give you the same page and it would be useful for you to have to have a new reference number with a conversation saying that you want to escalated to a complaint.
So here's hoping we get some movement on this before Christmas shuts things down at the customer support department and I for one will be chasing them on a daily basis now and I really appreciate if you would do the same to.

Anyone else seeing this since the Microsoft update?

NotebookCheck.net

..We did encounter one problem: The right mouse key does not function reliably. It functions for a while, and then, after turning the laptop on the next time, it does not work. We could not find a reason for this behavior. A reinstallation of the driver did not solve the problem, which is also present on the 15.6-inch version of the GL702VM - the Asus GL502VM (a review of this notebook will be published in the next few days on Notebookcheck.com). Thus, it does not appear to be a unique problem affecting only our current review unit...

Nice to have it in print to back us up.

Did anyone try this to see if it fixes right touchpad not working issue?

I've only had my GL502VS for a few days and I've experienced the right mouse button not responding while on battery power.*
The button is making the clock sound but Windows doesn't respond.
Nothing was connected to the computer and double finger tap works fine.
I was/am in the latest driver available.

Driver issue?*

Thanks for bringing it to our attention it's also on your model. Please get a Asus support ticket so we can get action on this issue.

I've returned my unit to Amazon UK & they requested a link to the above review to see if Asus address the issue quickly, if not they may withdraw support from this Asus model.

Iunno if this is related, but:

I notice when my laptop is off and its slightly cold in my room, my touchpad/trackpad starts to scrape/rubs against the inside of the laptop chasis for the right button. And, sometimes, the right button wouldn't work either despite the scraping/rubbing. When the laptop is running and heats up, the problem goes away. And, if the pad still rubs when i press it, I push against the trackpad and then push upward with my finger, and that usually temporarily solves the issue.

The laptop in concept is nice, but for a retail price of $2200-2400 CAD, this is slightly unsettling. Has anyone else experienced this?
