Happy to report that Fedora 36 KDE gave me no problems with hardware wifi etc... sound and headphones all fine. The instructions for keyboard backlight at
https://asus-linux.org/wiki/fedora-guide/ Also worked flawlessly which was very gratifying as things like that can and are a hassle at times. The latest version of asusctl has the G733qs listed in conf files so no additions needed there.
Other distributions were tried like Kubuntu 22.04 and while they're very nice the keyboard and body leds do not work and OpenRGB did not work either due to unobtainable dependencies. Like to hear comments from other of issues you may have good luck!
