I've been having a problem with my laptop for several months. I use it in the office, so I lock Windows by pressing the Win + L buttons if I need to go away. Often, upon return, the laptop is non-responding. Namely, the keyboard backlight does not work, the fans spin at high speeds, the screen does not light up, and the laptop does not respond to button presses, closing/opening the lid, or to turning on/off the power from the outlet. As a result, I have to turn it off by holding the power button for 5-10 seconds.
I tried to solve this problem by reinstalling the NVIDIA and AMD drivers, both from the Asus website and the newest ones. It did not help. I disabled fast startup in BIOS and Windows, but that didn't help either.
I noticed that the problem is present when the NVIDIA dGPU is running, especially when the Ultimate mod is enabled in Armory Crate. However, this can also be seen in both the Standard mod and Optimus.
What can I do about it? I no longer know which way to dig.
