I have my laptop since 2022 and almost a year ago, sometimes when I pressed the power button, the keyboard light and power indicator came on but the computer didn't sound it turned on and nothing showed up on screen either.
When it was plugged I had to unplug it to turn those lights off and attempt another try and sometimes it took two or three tries until it turned on.
if it was on battery (unplugged) the computer lights would turn on for a few seconds and then went off as if the computer didn't turn on at all.
So this issue kept persisting until recently that no matter how much I tried, even holding down the power button for a minute and plugging and unplugging the power cable, it lights up the keyboard and power indicator but the computer never turns on! Now I'm frustrated.
I'm not sure if this is a cmos battery issue or not. I have opened the laptop and connected and disconnected battery cable to motherboard and it turned on once or twice but now that is not a solution either since it does the same thing on the third attempt!
does anyone have any solution or had same issue?

Did you try resetting the BIOS of the laptop as I mentioned?
To do this, first turn off the laptop and plug in the AC adapter. Then hold the power button for 30-60 seconds to reset the BIOS.
Some people on the forum recommend removing all SSDs and other USB devices just to be safe and avoid any risk of data loss.
I tried it myself without removing SSDs or other devices, and everything went smoothly—the BIOS reset without any issues. But it's up to you to decide.
Also you can try to update the bios if is not updated soon and if you can enter in the bios
If you've tried this and it didn’t help, just send it to a repair center.

Thanks for your quick reply my friend. I have done that holding the power button for a minute or so multiple times and if that has reset the BIOS, it's done several times since I had this issue but didn't fix it. No data loss with this method so far.
I expected the BIOS reset process be more complicated than this. I had opened it up today, hoping I could physically remove the CMOS battery, but this seems like not too easy to reach on these STRIX G15 series. I was just able to plug and unplug the battery cable and that worked on 3/10 attempts to turn the laptop on.
That being said I'm now on my way to a computer repair shop in Manhattan since I don't have much time to figure out myself.

Yes this is better to be send in repair center
Can you write what was the problem when they repair the laptop that can be helpful for other people in this forum

Sure I will. The guy will have it mainly diagnosed on Monday for free (he's closed over the weekend and he was busy now), but his guess was an unwanted BIOS update at some point. I think it as well.
nevertheless I'll report the results back here on Monday.

So today the repair person shared his diagnosis with me. He said he tested all components including RAMs, GPU, SSD Hard Drive, and BIOS but none of them showed any issue. But saw inconsistent voltage issues around CPU.
It seems like the CPU on this model is keen for overheating and affecting some other electronic parts on motherboard. It is the first generation of Corei9 and he suggested two solutions for it with costs:
1. To replace the CPU unit with a lower end Corei7 costing $760 for parts only
2. To repair the affected parts and making sure afterwards I use cooling pad and air suction fan around laptop to protect it from overheating. This would cost $330.
So I'm a bit confused, but I'd probably go for the 2nd option. Honestly I wasn't even expecting this much cost. Thought it's a simple BIOS issue.
anyway, let me know what you think guys!
