I am at my wits end with this issue. It keeps coming and going with some Bios updates and seem to be completely random.
Every time I wake up my PC from hibernation, I can hear the GPU fan running at 4000-6000 RPM all the time regardless of the dGPU being in use or not, but for some reason Armory Crate does not detect it and shows it as 0 RPM.
Some of the things that sometimes fix the issue, but not always:
1) Restarting the PC. I have to do it 2-3 times sometimes but it works and GPU fan's values start showing up in Armory crate and its speed immediately becomes low
2) Going to task manager, and ending every service related to Armory Crate and then restarting Armory Crate app
3) Opening MyAsus, running a diagnostic on the Fans. It makes all of them spin as hard as it can, reports a problem but sometimes the GPU fan speed shows up in AC
4) Using the manual mode in AC with GPU's values turned all the way down. Again, very hit and miss
Problem is, these are all workarounds and I'm tired of playing whack-a-mole everytime I have to work on my computer. Does anyone know how can I prevent this issue from coming up at all??
I thought it might be a hardware problem but clearly the fan's speed can still be controlled by the system (My Asus or AC), and so all of these workarounds are working without opening up the PC or disassembling the fan, so it has to be some sort of software issue, right?
If anyone has a solution, please let me know. This is frustrating me a lot. Thanks
