ROG Strix G16 - G615 (2025) RTX 5070Ti Freezing and Turbo mode issue

Hi,

I have the new 2025 ROG Strix G16 (G615) with RTX 5070Ti and Intel 275HX processor, 32GB RAM. i am facing two issues specifically with my laptop :

1. It freezes randomly while use for 2-3 seconds and then resumes back. This happens in games, creative applications and even while browsing files and surfing the web. This has been happening since the day i bought this laptop (around 3 months ago). Initially it happened around 3-4 times an hour, now it has been happening much more frequently, to the point that the laptop is pretty unusable smoothly.

2. When running heavy applications like davinci resolve, heavy games and AI applications, they run fine on performance mode, but the laptop crashes after a while on Turbo mode which is really counter-intuitive as the laptop is supposed to be best performing at turbo mode. Turbo mode is really not usable. its pretty bad and always crashed the system.

I have updated windows, NVIDIA drivers and ASUS BIOS and everything the My ASUS app and armory crate suggested. Still the problem persists. Any solution or is anyone else facing similar problems and have you found any fix?

One of these if your hardware isnt faulty

1. Have u set nvidia control pannel display mode as auto?

looks like auto switching between igpu and dgpu depends on gpu loads

It takes couple seconds each time

if u cant understand how it works, set your laptop on ultimate mode.

2. If not , have u installed windows via IRST driver?

Some ppl turn off vmd controller to find drive instead of loading intel storage driver.

Idk why, but not using irst causes many graphics bug in this laptop

3. Have u undervolted cpu?

Not all cpu can follow 'undervolting guide' from random internet post.

If u undervolted something‚ roll it back.

1. The NVIDIA Control panel is not on Auto, its on dGPU all the time (Ultimate Graphics settings in Armory Crate).

2. IDK what IRST driver, VMD controller or inetl storage driver means. I just keep windows up to date always, install all updates from Armory Crate and my ASUS app. I m not aware if these settings are touched by these apps behind the scenes while updates.

3. No undervolting...nothing like that. i dont even know how to do that honestly. i m not a tinkerer, just use the laptop as is provided by ASUS without tweaking anything apart from the official setting armory crate provides.

I've had the same issue with my 5070ti as well. I was hoping to find a slight solution, but even after a clean install, the driver "nvlddmkm.sys failed" within even viewer so I don't know either.

I have the same laptop and for some time I had pretty bad microstutters until I saw this video: https://youtu.be/O5o2MjHZiwg?si=ieS4mDE8TnE2DKsm

It seems like the main reason for performance issues is are some options in Armoury Crate. I did as mentioned in the video turn Aura Sync to "Static" and this alone got me a good performance increase somehow.

Same problem here espicially in the witcher 3 and cyberpunk games when windows goes sleep and back to use this problem happen and sometimes without that vmd is off now i will try to reinstall windows and turn on vmd

I tried aura sync to static or turn off same problem

Note i have this problem only with external monitor
