I have an identical laptop. Today tried to upgrade to a 2x16gb - 4800mhz dual channel. And the PC won't take the new RAM it gets only the black screen. Even after waiting for a RAM training time of 30 minutes. I still can't get it working. Tried 100 different things to help me run the ram but nothing. The BIOS also is very bad on this laptop. It looks like it's storing the components on some log files and on every booting tries to find them and won't use the new one. Even if I take one stock ram out it won't turn on. I have a feeling that it is programmed to take only the two of the original ones.

Very interesting problem i also watch youtube video's how some people upgrade the ram whitout problem even on this video was install6 2x16 5200mhz ram on not CPU that not support it and it work fine

Maybe its better to make some post's about this problem to see what asus will say
