ROG Scar 16-17-18 gaming laptops and Intel 13th and 14th gen stability issue

So... what about this Intel scandal recently emerged?

Intel has finally tracked down the problem making 13th- and 14th-gen CPUs crash | Ars Technica

If you're using a 13th- or 14th-generation CPU and you're not noticing any problems, the microcode update should prevent your processor from degrading. But if you're already noticing stability problems, Tom's Hardware reports that "the bug causes irreversible degradation of the impacted processors" and that the fix will not be able to reverse the damage that has already happened.

Intel says that an analysis of defective processors "confirms that the elevated operating voltage is stemming from a microcode algorithm resulting in incorrect voltage requests to the processor." In other words, the CPU is receiving too much power, which is degrading stability over time.

Are ASUS+Intel planning BIOS updates to mitigate the issue?

Since when did we humans become so placid.
We have forgotten the power we yield if we group together for the cause.
Remember GameStop as a good example. Reputation damage directly affects the bottom line.
Consumers have rights, if those rights are violated we have a voice and we can do a lot to impose pressure.
The fact is they have deviated away from Intel's specifications for the CPU by raising the Power Limits and IccMax values for the various components.
If you download and check the intel datasheet you will see what those configurations are meant to be.

For my system until we have a confirmed answer if mobile cpu's are indeed affected I have configured ThrottleStop and Armory Crate as follows:

Armory Crate:
Custom Profile, custom fan curve for CPU, GPU and System.

CPU:
PL1: 140
PL2: 157

GPU:
Dynamic Boost: 25W
Thermal Target: 87c

ThrottleStop:

TPL:
PL1: 140
PL2: 157

FIVR:
Turbo Groups P cores: All 49.
TVB Disabled.
Cache Ratio 8:46
MV Boost @800: 30
Core: -0.1504 IccMax 220
CPU P Cache: -0.1201 IccMax 245
CPU E Cache: -0.1201 IccMax, untouched.
System Agent, Intel GPU, iGPU Unsslice: -0.0293 IccMax 245.

Can undervolt prevent degrading of the CPU ?

I have i7-13650HX and from 8 months this CPU ot overclocked to 5ghz on all Pcores constant locked frequency from base 4.5ghz and for now i dont have any problem

Another thing is that i apply big undervolt -170core

-140 Pcore cache

-150 Ecore cache

IccMax to 220 A

May if CPU is undervolted and have stable temperature (my dont go above 80-85 C) maybe that can prevent problem whit this 13-14 gen CPU if someone know better he can write in the comments is this help

Your 13650HX is fine & safe as it doesn't clock high enough to be of a concern.

The issues extend to any and all 13th/14th gen cpu's that are capable of higher than 65w as stated by intel. So far I can only find it on Tom's hardware, but that's what's going on.

Intel's CPU instability and crashing issues also impact mainstream 65W and higher 'non-K' models — d...

It's based on this comment. Unconfirrmed, but anyone experiencing these instabilities on any SKU should speak up.

Yes, that was mentioned in the GN coverage, however, having spent the last year monitoring service cases in ROG Care the number of reports seems to be nonexistent compared to desktop parts. Reddit also. Not attempting to be dismissive, if anything it should come as some reassurance hopefully.

No matter anyone from ASUS tries to spin it... They can't hide it under the rug or dodging it. It's been confirmed since day 1 HX CPU is affected but who am I to convince ASUS lol.... they are ignorant unless Intel forced there hands to do something or some big Tech Youtuber exposing them.

Time will tell until ASUS themselves are forced to admit mobile are affected too like what they did with desktop... it's time to do the same for laptop users that includes Intel HX 13th/14th CPUs.

We are not spinning anything, as far as I am aware, there have been no substantiated cases reported on our end so far.

13450hx maybe unlucky ram and cpu overvoltage even when set economy send optimized idling and I've went to a local store cause it was acting strange and couldn't ever pinpoint my hidden problems but this intell issues speaks to me highly and everyone is trying to put my comment and idea down so I wana share that with you seeing you being  a reasonable person. Currently in eith asus rma being diagnosed and intel told me to go to my manufacturer
