First of all, I want to mention that the drivers Asus provides work fine and have no issues. The issue is with the most up-to-date Nvidia drivers, where they don't work well with Advanced Optimus. In all of these cases I'm going to mention, the display mode is set to Auto. Every time I install the most up-to-date official Nvidia driver, I have the following issues: The first time of switching the display to Nvidia GPU fails and reverts back to the iGPU the first time. The second time however, the display successfully switches to the Nvidia GPU. Secondly, when I launch a game and the display switches to the Nvidia GPU while launching, the entire screen goes black. It's important to mention that a display connected to the laptop meanwhile, displays the game perfectly. When I close the game, in earlier Nvidia driver versions the screen recovered. Now it no longer recovers until the laptop goes to sleep. The drivers which Asus provides work perfectly fine and have none of these issues.
I've already contacted Nvidia about this and they made me fill a bug reporting form. The support person told me to wait some releases to see if the issue is addressed, however it's been a long time and the issue is still not addressed. Could Asus maybe release updated drivers for this model since the ones we have are a year old, or maybe better, contact Nvidia about the problem? There are many people on the internet who's facing the same issue.
