Hi all, I'm a real noob at all this, but I've had my laptop for 2 years and it's seen heavy use during this time. I've noticed the temps climbing a lot from the 70s to 90s on games I've played since the start when it was new. I've had a look online for my particular model ROG Strix G513RW, but I can't seem to find a video guide for this particular model, I know this one uses liquid metal. I've also been told on other subs that laptops should never need repasting , so just looking for some advice. Cheers

Just read this post and thing again

If you are a real noob whit repasting you can be in his situation
You have 2 choses send it somewhere to clean and change your liquid metal or thermal paste
Or change it alone but watch a videos about that how to change liquid metal or thermal paste and search in youtube for rog strix ,scar (they are similar and video for another laptop can help you ) you will find videos how to repaste your laptop . Also if you led is connected to the panel you can broke it when disabling it

When replacing or removing the liquid metal, you need to be very careful, because it is currently on the heatsink and on the CPU laminate, but not on the silicon wafer. You need to clean the liquid metal slowly and thoroughly, and finally polish the heatsink, because there will be pitting from the liquid metal.
Secondarily, it is better to use a different heatsink binder, e.g. PTM material, or Grizzly Carbonaut or KryoSheet thermopads.
