Question about SSD compatibility on ASUS ROG Strix Scar 16 G634JZ

Hello there ROGers,

I am considering upgrading my laptop and exchange one of the 1tb SSD it has with a 4tb Fury renegade SSD. I see this model is thicker and wanted to ask if any of you can recommend it as the reading / writing speed is great but I am ot sure if the laptop would be able to reach those levels and also the thickness of the model might be a problem to mount it...

Many thanks in advance to whomever might have a look here and tries to help!

You will get higher than those scores especially the write speed, what are the current drives (the ASUS standard one should be faster), device manager will show you the details / model.

Hello,

The low profile version will fit as it is just a copper type sticker over the memory chips.

Speed depends on the laptop but with your specs it should be close, have you tried any speed tests to see what you currently get?

You can use CrystralDiskMark, https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskmark/

Run the DiskMark64 version and post a screenshot. (As a rough guide, the top row read / write is representative of the manufacturer's speed rating), example screenshot here/

Here we go, the SSD units are represented in 10 times of MB/s

If the 3.5 mm thickness is not a problem I will then buy the Renegade 4tb version

Thanks for the help so far!!!

It was suppose to be CrystalDiskMark (not CrystalMark), site is a bit messy.

I just thought might be a different version. No worries, here you go. These are the results for the current SSD, 2x1b. I got them as two separate SSD Units now, buy came merged with RAID when I bought the Laptop, so it's the same type of SSD
