New ROG Strix G16 (G614PR) 5070Ti (2025) - system crash during gameplay.

Problem: Constant random crashes from games or blue screen with various problems.

Windows installed via Creation Tool.
Drivers downloaded from the official website.
Video driver 581.08 (with this driver it became a little better, but the problem did not disappear)
Tried Windows 10 - the same thing.

32 Gb DDR5 (2 different modules, but with the same timings) Tried changing slots, turning on one module at a time - nothing changes.
BIOS - tried all versions - 301, 302, 303 - nothing changes.

Spec
AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
Microsoft Windows 11 Professional (x64) Build 26100.4349 (24H2)
Secure boot disable\enable - the same thing

You're mentioning different memory chips, so maybe that's the problem. Try a clean install of Windows. You say you've tried all BIOS versions. Where did you get access to them? Could you provide the contact information? I'm having trouble with Linux on this laptop. The latest BIOS is to blame.

All BIOS versions are on the driver download page. I tried to roll back previous versions, but it didn't help.

I'll also add that the problem appears when the power supply is connected. I don't see such problems when working from the battery.

Try looking in windows event manager, type it in the search bar, on the left when you open it

click on windows and system as shown in the above screenshot.

afterwards on the left pane, select the filter current log option as show in the above screenshot

from there you can select critical , and then ok at the bottom of the window. This can give you an idea if you're experiencing any critical errors that are causing system instability. Not a perfect solution, but it might point you in the right direction. Feel free to post a screenshot if there appears to be significant critical errors on your event viewer. Best of luck.

So I'm not the only one suffering from this issue. Did you manage to find a fix for this yet? Rolling back my GPU drivers to version 577 helped, but I just got a crash with a DirectX kernel fatal error (0x113), again...

No, I couldn't solve the problem. I think it's either the BIOS or the power supply subsystem. Because when running on battery everything is fine.

That's definitely frustrating, Rolling back drivers is definitely one of the most prescribed fixes for DirectX issues, and since you already did that, it's promising that it's probably a software related issues and not a physical hardware issue (especially if there aren't any graphical artifacts). A couple of things you could try.

- I always like to toggle windows game mode off and see if helps

- I think you mentioned updates, but sometimes you can try going into windows store and looking at downloads and updates, there can be random extension helpers and such that might need updating

- just double check Armoury crate is all updated.

- Do you use HW monitor at all, if so how are temps, you can always look at AC, but HWmonitor is a little more indepth, and it also shows you PCI errors in the GPU section. (though fair warning windows and most hardware have some errors, so it's most likely you see atleast some errors in HW) If you see a huge amount of errors for ever type and their rapidly climbing, perhaps some of the next mentioned steps could be helpful.

- If you've heard of DDU at all, you could always try to a full uninstall and reinstall, although it can be a little finnicky and bit of process (there a many web based and you tube tutorials on it though..) If you rollback are you using NVidia's clean install as well>

- Finally you could just do another install of windows, it kinds of side steps doing anything else, also as a note when you're going through drives for reinstall I typically just delete everything ( except of course the USB drive where to reinstall is). Avoid installing any GPU drivers first, get windows updates all done, you can do chipset, bluetooth, i/o, etc. just wait to do gpu until windows ahs finished administering updates. After you all fresh and ready to go, just go grab NVidias drive from their website and do a nice fresh clean installation under custom install. This option is the most nuclear, but it usually solves my issues if I think it's a software problem I just can't get to behave.

Best of luck, hopefully you don't have to go all the way in deleting, but if so, it is usually pretty helpful. Let me know how it goes and good luck,

@559911 Thought you might want to know that using the latest "NVIDIA Graphic Driver" from the Asus support site seems to have remedied my crashing issues, though according to the Nvidia app these are a good few versions older than 581.08 (specifically 576.65): https://rog.asus.com/us/laptops/rog-strix/rog-strix-g16-2025-g614/helpdesk_download/ This link is for the US support site, though. You may what to look for these elsewhere if you're outside the region.
