Need Help: Boot Menu Empty on ROG BIOS Utility (Version 2.20.0049)

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing an issue with my ASUS ROG BIOS Version 2.20.0049, and I'd greatly appreciate any help or advice.

The Problem:

The boot menu in the BIOS Utility is empty, and I can't see any bootable devices listed. Here's what happened:

My laptop was powered on, and I left the table for a while. When I returned, the display had turned off and I couldn't turn it back on.

  •  I held the power button to force a shutdown.
  • After restarting, the boot option disappeared.

Background Information:

  • The SATA mode is set to AHCI.
  • Fast Boot was enabled but has since been disabled for troubleshooting.
  • The hard drive/SSD is properly connected, and the drive is detected in the storage configuration.
  •  I performed a full system diagnosis, and no issues were detected.
  • I do not have access to bootable media or another computer to create one.

What I've Tried So Far:

1. Resetting the BIOS settings to their defaults.

2. Inspecting the drive connections physically and in the BIOS.

3. Attempting to manually add a boot option in the BIOS Utility, but I couldn't find a relevant option to do this.

Goal:

I'm trying to boot into Windows 11 Pro that's already installed on my system. The system was working fine before, but now the boot priority and options are missing.

Any advice on how to restore the boot menu or manually configure it would be greatly appreciated. If there's a way to repair the bootloader directly from BIOS or another workaround without bootable media, please let me know!

Thanks in advance for your help!

  1. Hold down the Power button for 10 seconds to shut down your device, then press the Power button to restart.
  2. When you see the device manufacturer’s logo, hold down the Power button again to turn it off.
  3. Repeat the process two times.
The 3rd time when it restarts, it will take you to the Automatic Repair Page

Click Advanced options.
On the Choose An Option Page, click Troubleshoot.
Select Advanced options.
Now, choose Startup Repair.
If prompted, select the OS you want to perform a startup repair on.
If prompted, select an administrator account to provide credentials for approval.
Type in the password of the selected administrator, and click/tap on Continue.
Start Repair will now start "Diagnosing your PC", and attempt to automatically repair it.
If repairs aren't successful, you'll see a summary of the problem in the log file.

If that fails. I will help with UEFI

If the drive bootloader is completely gone the above will not work so you does your laptop BIOS have the cloud recovery option?

It's in the BIOS and might help depending on the state of your drive.
