When I was searching around for a gaming laptop this time last year, I found the reviews and comments of fellow redditors super helpful. So to pitch in, below is my experience with the ASUS ROG Strix G17 gaming laptop.
Long story short is I did a ton of research November of 2020 for the best gaming laptop/money with a 17" screen. I'm an engineer by trade and do lots of work with linux/docker, so having a platform with extra memory (16GB+) was a nice-to-have.
After a long search, the ASUS ROG Strix G17 was on the top of my list. I went to my local microcenter to check one out. First of all it looked cool with its RGB lighting and screen size. When I found out they had a 32GB memory spec'd model that was on sale (holiday time), I decided to go for it.
