My Asus strix g731gu not detecting GPU Help

Hello everyone,

I have an Asus ROG Strix G731GU, and my laptop is not detecting the GPU. I have already formatted the computer, tried installing the latest NVIDIA drivers, but it says it does not detect the GPU. I checked the Device Manager, and it does not find the NVIDIA GPU.

I upgraded to Windows 11, uninstalled and reinstalled Armoury Crate, but it still does not detect the GPU. In the BIOS, only the Intel graphics appear.

The laptop turns on, and when I open Armoury Crate, it shows that the GPU is at 0% usage and in extreme power-saving mode. I have already switched it to Turbo and Performance modes, but it still does not detect the NVIDIA GPU.

I have no idea what else to do. The GPU stopped working when I installed Razer software, which prompted me to restart the computer.

I’m out of ideas. Does anyone know what might be causing this?

  1. Check BIOS: Ensure the NVIDIA GPU is enabled in BIOS settings.
  2. Reinstall Drivers: Use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to remove existing NVIDIA drivers, then reinstall the latest drivers from the NVIDIA website.
  3. Uninstall Razer Software: Remove any Razer software that may be causing conflicts.
  4. Update Windows: Make sure Windows 11 is fully updated.
  5. Check Device Manager: Look for hidden devices and see if the NVIDIA GPU appears with an error.
  6. Reset BIOS: Reset BIOS to default settings.
  7. Contact Support: If the issue persists, consider contacting ASUS support for hardware assistance.
