try Dolby Access preset
+7 +9 +6 +8 +2 +4 -2 +1 +6 +4

Dolby_Access_22H2_IoT.png

Another common cause of sound problems is a version mismatch between BIOS + Dolby Access + ISST + Cirrus + Realtek (yes, this is pure schizophrenia, according to Microsoft policy you MUST always be on the latest version, otherwise you will get bad crappy sound)

my testing example ASUS G814JV (2023)
Factory Reset
1) BIOS 313 (2023/06/09) + ISST 2022 (December) + Realtek 2022 + Dolby Access (before connecting to the Internet and update) + Cirrus and Surround on = Very Very Good Quallity if you add an external sound card to this you will get pure thrill
2) BIOS 313 + ISST 2023 + Realtek 2023 + Dolby Access any new version = Bad sound, sound jerking from the Surround on button, effect like underwater
3) BIOS 321 + ISST 2022 (December) + Realtek 2022 (BSOD) > 2023 = Bad quallity low volume
4) BIOS 321 + ISST 2023 + Realtek 2023 + Dolby Access (2024) = medium quallity, many bass, few high frequencies

there is a myth, corporations cut off high frequencies and volume to make it easier to listen to the user’s voice and send data for analytics of advertising marketing wiretapping (I hope I’m wrong)

Try reinstalling the drivers responsible for sound. Download the sound drivers from your laptop's support page (rog.asus.com/laptops/rog-strix/rog-strix-scar-18-2024/helpdesk_download/). I believe they are Realtek Audio V6.0.9590.1 dated 2024/01/02, Dolby Atmos driver V8.1115.1007.38.5 (located in the Software and Utility section), and Cirrus SmartAMP Driver V23.26.47.760. Download DriverStore Explorer (github.com/lostindark/DriverStoreExplorer); you need to click on "DriverStoreExplorer.v0.11.92.zip".

I think the driver reinstallation process looks something like this; I haven't done this myself, so I can't be completely sure.
Uninstall the Realtek Audio Console, and Dolby Access, Dolby Digital Plus decoder for PC OEMs via Start > Settings > Apps, then restart your computer.
Run DriverStore Explorer and check the boxes for all driver versions where the .inf file starts with: dax, hdx, and realtek, and csaudioext.inf (Driver class > Extensions, Provider > Cirrus logic, Inc), csaudio.inf (Driver class > Sound, video and game controllers).
Check the "Force Deletion" box, then click the "Delete Driver(s)" button.
Install Realtek Audio first, then Cirrus SmartAMP, then Dolby Atmos.

folllowing exactly your instruction and triple check, everything seems good.

then well i checked again on the device manager, the version WEIRDLY still stuck on older version even thought i followed exactly what you said, tested the speaker, still the same as before, nothing changes sadly.

why asus make my life miserable enough as it is?

It's highly recommended to back up important data before using these function, even if you choose to keep your files, as a precaution.

Check the Restore Points; there might be a restore point from before the issue occurred. In the search bar, type 'Create a restore point' and open it. Select 'System Restore', click 'Choose a different restore point', click 'Show more restore points', and see if there's a restore point from before the problem started. This process can take a while; it recently took me 20-30 minutes. asus.com/support/faq/1018810/#Win11

You can also try using the Windows 11 reinstallation feature without deleting your personal data: Settings > System > Recovery > Reinstall now. elevenforum.com/t/repair-install-windows-11-with-an-in-place-upgrade.418/#One

There's also a system reset function that removes all applications and drivers. When using this option, you'll be presented with a choice to either keep your personal files or remove everything. To access this feature, go to Settings > System > Recovery > Reset PC. asus.com/us/support/faq/1013063/

will doing one of these will help me to actually install to the newest version driver without it keep re installing the old driver? i have so much files now

appreciate your reply, thanks.

I'm not sure. Maybe we don't even need to install new drivers, as the low speaker volume could be caused by the new drivers. It'd be nice to have a second external SSD with a system installed on it for testing things out.

I found an alternative if you download the latest CachyOS Linux iso (1 ssd + 2 os > refind Windows <> Linux) and in it
1. install Flatpak + easyeffects ... after
sudo pacman -Syu easyeffects
sudo pacman -S curl
sudo pacman -S calf lsp-plugins-lv2 zam-plugins-lv2 mda.lv2

2. download custom presets from GitHub, layers Equalizer, Crystalizer, Convolver, Convolver (2) especially improve the sound... but the latter adds noise if the music is oversaturated with bass, the whole problem is in closed proprietary Dolby drivers. With Linux, it's easy to achieve loud, spacious and detailed sound. At the same time, achieving the deep and spacious spatial bass that Dolby technology provides is almost impossible.

try restoring the driver to the previous version.

Well, here I discovered another pattern, it concerns the G814 / G834 (2023) models.

BIOS 313
- empty
- empty
BIOS 330-331
Internal Speaker
5G

313_speakers.png

to study bios strix | scar (2024) you can use AMIBCP_5.02.0034 and the script for unpacking the asus firmware file https://github.com/platomav/BIOSUtilities

Due to the fact that in new versions of the BIOS the Internal Speaker item has appeared, in the new BIOS the sound has become quieter, after the firmware the high frequencies are very muffled. Playback is worse in 24-bit mode and slightly better in 16-bit mode. But when this add-on was not in the BIOS, it was much better in any mode, be it 24 bit or 16 bit. That is, the newer the BIOS, the more the sound is muffled. The drivers are the same, but the newer the BIOS, the worse the sound. This is most likely due to the requirement of environmental friendliness, they say it is now fashionable not to harm others with loudness and similar nonsense. The logic is why this is done, if you record music + the voice of human speech, cutting off high frequencies is much easier using AI to separate the user’s voice from the music for sending to Microsoft servers. “big brother is watching” Ho Ho Ho

in Linux displays the audio chip with the command [ Strix 2023 ]
cat '/proc/asound/card0/codec#0' | grep Codec
ALC294

so if you bought a laptop and originally had a different BIOS, the only solution is to try to revert to the oldest bios and use a factory image of Windows with Dolby Access and Realtek Audio Console patched. All other new drivers and BIOS will generally be quieter and of lower quality, whether this is intentional or a bug we will never know about. Personally, I will have to look for an unofficial service center to correct this misunderstanding. Not for the sake of severe deterioration in sound, I spent 1700 USD and, against my will, updated the BIOS so that my laptop artificially turned into a vegetable.
