Laptop brightness down with armory crate update

Hi, I have a Asus ROG Strix G18 Laptop and today I updated armory crate to version 6.1.13.0. With this update my maximum display brightness went down and only goes back to normal maximum when using Ultimate GPU mode. I dislike this change very much. Did anyone else also have this issue? I'd like to go back to previous Armory Crate version.

Hello. I have a problem with the AC, the setting for the number of P-cores and E-cores has disappeared, I contacted support, but apart from sending screenshots of the system, there was no response. The only option to roll back is to download the offline installation of the AC. If they haven't replaced it yet. You won't be able to return to version 5 via the online installation.

how do you do that please?

download

1. download two programs Armoury Crate Full Installation Package, Crate Uninstall Tool.

2. uninstall using Armoury Crate Uninstall Tool
Then, unzip the program archive  Armoury Crate Full Installation Package
And then install according to the instructions of the installer
Another option is to download the full installer on the Asus website and select the model of your laptop, then the drivers and utilities section and find there Armoury Crate Full

Hi there,

I’ve noticed similar issues with Armoury Crate updates before. It sounds like the new version might be adjusting brightness levels based on the GPU mode. To fix this, you can try the following:

  1. Check Armoury Crate Settings: Look for any new settings related to power or display brightness in the updated Armoury Crate interface.
  2. Rollback to Previous Version: Unfortunately, Armoury Crate doesn’t have a built-in rollback feature. You’ll need to uninstall it completely and download the previous version from the ASUS support page for your laptop.
  3. Update GPU Drivers: Sometimes, a mismatch between GPU drivers and Armoury Crate can cause issues. Ensure your GPU drivers are up to date.

If none of this works, I’d suggest reaching out to ASUS support or posting in their forums. Hopefully, they’ll release a fix in a future update!
