Issue with CPU Fan Speed Display in Armoury Crate After Update

Hi everyone,
After a recent update, I started having a problem on my laptop: Armoury Crate no longer correctly displays the CPU fan speed. It almost always shows 0 RPM, even though the fan is clearly spinning at high speed (audibly over 6000 RPM).

Sometimes everything works fine after a reboot, but most of the time it doesn’t. The issue appears randomly, and I haven’t been able to find any pattern.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Reinstalled Armoury Crate several times (including full cleanup)

  • Updated the BIOS to the latest version

  • Changed Windows power settings (manually and automatically)

  • Switched between different performance modes in Armoury Crate

  • Opened up and cleaned the cooling system — no effect

Temperatures are within normal range the whole time, so overheating is not the issue. Interestingly, sometimes after some time running, the laptop “realizes” that the fan is actually spinning fast, and then Armoury Crate suddenly starts showing the correct high RPM values. Once the numbers appear, the system seems to normalize and everything works as it should.

Has anyone experienced something similar? I’d really appreciate any advice.

Update:
After entering the BIOS, I noticed that the fan RPM readings jump to random values, just like they do in Armoury Crate. So it's still unclear whether this is a software issue or a faulty RPM sensor.

It jumps from 300 to 0 to 6500 to 100 etc
