Hi all,
I recently bought ASUS GL502-VT from BestBuy at a relatively cheap price. The reason it's cheap is because they are selling it with a TFT display TFT display having part number N156HGE-EAL Ver.C1. I already got my display changed once from the service center but the new display again having product description 18010-15602100 LCD 15.6 FHD US EDP seems to be a TFT display again.
The official webpage https://www.asus.com/in/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/ROG-GL502VT/ clearly mentions that the display provided will be an IPS display but then its really does not make sense why would Best Buy ship this same product with a TFT display.
The display viewing angles are worst and I would like to get my notebook display changed again. Can anyone provide me with a part number for IPS panel please?
I also tried calibrating the the screen color but then due to worst viewing angle the top portion shows better whites and the lower portion shows yellowish whites.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Model number : ROG GL 502-VT

In the same boat. Bought mine from BB while on sale, couldn't pass it up. I knew the screen was TN and would be poor. BB does this as an exclusive, discounting the MSRP a bit less than the normal IPS model. However, the sale was to good to pass up and replacing the screen is worth it. Honestly, the screen isn't that bad. Passable, but obviously not the best. My main desktop has an Asus WQHD IPS panel, so going to the laptop leaves a lot to be desired.
Honestly, you may be better off replacing the screen yourself. You can find them from ~$75 give or take some.
