I have an Asus ROG Strix Scar 18 with an RTX 5090, I have a question about the custom upgrades

I'm pretty new to gaming laptops and I'm not the most tech savy  person, I'm just curious if the laptop would be able to fit this 8 TB SSD in it's hard drive slot? My understanding is the heatsink makes the SSD a little bit bigger, making me more concerned as to whether it'd be to big for the SSD slot. Also would there be any sort of performance issues with an SSD like this?

In that same vein would this laptop be able to fit this type of RAM?

Also want to be clear that I'm not worried about price.

I have the 16 inch Intel 5090 SCAR so I don't know about that SSD, I think you 18 guys can probably fit a thicker SSD? In my laptop that model will not fit, I bought the 4TB 990. I think us 16 inchers are limited to single sided SSDs w/o heatsinks. I do have that Crucial 128GB kit tho (CT2K64G56C46S5), and it works perfectly. I bought it from BB at the end of Oct for 419.99, I can't believe how much ram prices have changed. Crazy.

Good morning.

the scar18 2025 max ram is 64gb. no more.

Regarding the ssd..... i will recommend not consider the nvme model with heatsync. part ot the cooling of the nvmes is that plastic cover you see there. If you can see the following image you be more clear. Sicne there is a plastic cover

And also the second port is gen 4 port only

Now alternatives for the cooling: I do not know the measurments how tall that plastic to the cover is. can be measure with a calipper. there are some alternative cooling heatsync that can help with cooling.

Example 3mm

Even 3mm adn 1.5mm

Note and this is a recommendation i tell everyone. since laptops are more close than computers and normal desktop have proper cooling, Any nvme adding to the unit WILL RISE the heat inside the unit. this is pass to the laptop cooling rising the heat. I will suggest stay on normal nvmes that does not elevate the heat inside. Even than this unit have better cooling

Check on your side this image the coiling of the 9100 pro is 0.35mm hope this help. It will proper fit??? no idea.
