Why do you want to downgrade the BIOS on your system? I think it is likely a BIOS backrev will NOT resolve the issue you are troubleshooting.

As I understand it, the EasyFlash utility in the BIOS does not care about the date of the BIOS file and can thus be used to backrev. See http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/174395-bios-update-guide-asus-notebooks.html for details.

I recommend you place the BIOS file on a flash drive formatted to FAT32 and place it in a USB 2.0 port. Be aware that ANY method used to flash the BIOS can encounter problems which will render your system unusable and require you to RMA to ASUS to recover.

Thx alott for replay 😃

I want to Reflash a selfmodded bios file. So that i can turn on and of the cpu throttling. The problem is that i have flashed the pc to latest bios builde earlyer. Easy flash wont let me flash older or same builde. Same goes for the Winflash softwear.

So im kinda stuck here. And for some reason i cant get the does way of the page you linked to work. Seems abit old. Because when you go to asus site you dont get the afalsh file anymore. I found one online, but then the cd wich i was told to download and burn was just a install cd. Not boot cd. I have also tried to use freedos bootable usb with the files on. But for some reason it wont launch aflash. But it finds the dir with the program in and bios.

Many have used ThrottleStop to disable CPU Throttling. See http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?2329-ATTENTION-G73-53SW-Owners-CPU-Throttling-to-798mhz-and....

Yes that is true! But it wont work for me 😞 It is still throttling. Ive been trying to go that way for ages 😞

I can confirm that easyflash now checks bios build, and can no longer be used for downgrading. version 209.

You have to create a DOS boot disc/drive and flash using a DOS utility.

Ah thx alot 🙂
I cant seem to find a Afudos file for asus g53sx at the support site? any suggestinons are welcome 🙂
Edit:
And the current bios file doesnt show as rom. Will this cause any problems?

rom is just an extension. Make sure the file is unpacked from any archives (such as zip, rar, etc) but as long as the file is the right format it should not matter what the extension is.

I would look for the afudos on the g73 pages maybe? I haven't looked for one since I haven't needed to revert.

I can confirm the throttling now is gone. This works !

Here is the guide and how to do it! From our forum memeber Lannigan !

Do it at your own risk! But its worth it!

Thx all for the help and support!
