I just got a new Strix 18 (13980hx/4080) but I still have my old Strix Scar II (8750H/2070). I plan on passing this down to someone I know, but I’d like to do a full repaste and clean up before handing it over. I had a few questions about thermal paste/pads.
1. I have always used Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut as thermal compound? Is it still my best bet for CPU/GPU paste? It’s been several year since I repasted anything.
2. For the VRMs/other surrounding components. Should I use pads (seems loke 0.5mm are the right ones for this laptop)? Or something like K5 Pro?
I searched like 5-10pages on the forum using the model name and model number (two separate searches) and found several posts about repasting this laptop, but saw people using both? What’s my best bet? Seen some conflicting info.
I know it’s an older model, but I appreciate any help/feedback! 🙂
