GL753VE Artifacting

Maraloc
Level 7
Hello all, I recently got this laptop (GL753VE), new, from a retailer and it ran fine for a week. Two days ago, whenever I started any games (Dota2, Total War: Warhammer, OW) the system would either load the image fine, then after a few seconds the image would freeze (sounds goes on and I can alt+tab (sometimes)) or artifact right after a few seconds and then it would BSOD into any of the following: a) Video Scheduler Internal Error; b) Video TDR Failure; c) DPC Watchdog Violation... suggesting it's a Driver issue. I installed, reinstalled, rolledback, removed, disabled, enabled, most drivers. I ran Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) several times, installing different nvidia drivers. Nothing helped. Even got stuck in the dreaded Automatic Repair loop, rendering my laptop almost useless, so I had to reset Windows, and even after reset nothing.

I installed MSI Afterburner and reduced the clock speed and clock memory by -150 each and after starting any new game, it wouldn't artifact anymore, but the gameplay is very choppy and unplayable. Leading me to believe that this is a temperatue problem or something (core 43 C idle/ GPU 40 C idle - > Core >85 C under load/GPU > 85 C Underload). While testing I noticed that the artifacting will happen even without the GPU going over 55C, it has more to do with how long the Memory is at full load.

I live in a country where RMA isn't as in the US: go into the store you bought the laptop from, yell at someone to vent, and get a replacement.. I'm stuck with this laptop, which wasn't cheap btw. There is an Asus certified service shop where I will take my computer sometime during the week, but they already told me it's 7+ business days to check the machine and I can't afford that time (I need my laptop for work and have no replacement), so I was wondering if anyone has any further suggestions that might help before I take it to the repair shop. I believe that the GPU is a faulty one and will probably die soon.
