GL752VW - M.2 SSD models confirmed working?

Hi Folks -

DISCLAIMER: Forgive me if it feels like I'm rehashing old questions or discussions. I've searched this forum and only found one relevant thread. After reading through, it appears to have a lot of conflicting information and/or mixups. I'm a novice in regards to custom upgrades, so I'm hoping someone has a more straightforward answer.

I have been unable to get my laptop to recognize the following SSD:
•GL752VW-DH71 Note: GL, not G
•Samsung 950 Pro M.2 NVMe 512 GB

It appears others have had the same issue. Before I return this drive, can anyone confirm what make / model(s) they have successfully installed in the GL752VW? If the Samsung Pro 950 has been successful for others, I could use some guidance. If I need to switch to a different model, my preference would be to have a 512 GB drive.

For the G752VY/VT/VL this is method is used and seems to working for a lot of people. Unsure how many people bought the GL and tried it.

I have the same problem as other GL owners who replied to you. The drive won't show up in BIOS nor disk management. Therefore, I don't know how I can "initialize" it if I can't even see it. Unless there's another step in your process I'm missing, it appears that your G752VW behaves differently from the GL752VW.

Folks, I don't want this thread to turn into the same muddy waters as the other one. Let's please keep the discussion limited to M.2 SSD drives that have been confirmed to work with the GL752VW.

Well then what does your user manual say? NVMe or AHCI I doubt that it would be SATA?

Do you mean the laptop manual? The only thing it says is: "The M.2 2280 slot does not support M.2 SATA SSD."

I have been reading the whole thread but I would like to be sure of what has been said here as I would like to buy the
ASUS GL752VW-T4064D soon with a SSD of 500GB.

Does the ASUS GL752VW-T4064D support the Samsung MZ-N5E500BW ??

I have a GL752VW that came with the 128 GB SSD. Based on ASUS's instructions, I bought this:

This is the Samsung 850 EVO - 500GB - M.2 SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-N5E500BW) that I bought earlier this year, and it's been working fine on my laptop with no issues at all.

Note that they have released a 1 TB version of this SSD, so if you have the money, I would recommend you purchase that.
