This laptop was unused for approximately one year. When powered up the battery was dead and would not charge at all. I bought a new 'original replacement' battery on Ebay but that battery would not fully charge and the laptop would shut off randomly while on battery power. I arranged to exchange that battery for another but am still having issues. The second battery will charge to a full 100% but it also shuts off randomly when it gets to around 40% left.
It runs fine on AC either with or without the battery installed.
I have tried to 'recalibrate' by unplugging the battery for an hour & reconnect/reboot = did not help.
Held the power button for 60 seconds - after powering off = also no help.
I uninstalled the AC Adapter & ACPI-Compliant control through the device manager & rebooted = no help.
I changed the power options in Windows 10 = no help.
Tonight I booted in Ubuntu and it still powered off around 40% - - so I dont believer its a windows problem.
Seems unlikely that I would have gotten two bad batteries (but possible i suppose)....so Im not sure if I should try another battery or what to try next.
Any ideas? If you think i should try another battery any advise as to where to purchase? Thanks in advance for help.
