I wanted to have dual channel memory and better CL so I picked up this kit

Patriot Viper 16GB (2 x 8G) 260-Pin DDR4 SO-DIMM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) Memory (Notebook Memory) Model PV416G240C5SK CAS Latency 15

CPU-Z confirms the XMP-2400 profile and that the ram is operating at CL15

but it never goes past 2132mhz..

what am I missing?

i'm curious,

how did you know that it never go past 2132 MHz?
no siggy, saw stuff that made me sad.

well everything from CPU-Z / the ROG Gaming Center / Intel XTU all say the same thing.

can i see your bios Dram settings?

Took a look In bios again, don't see any screen with DRAM settings unfortunately.

looks like the system isn't using the XMP profile for the RAM, i don't suppose there is another way to force this?*

ah.

i can't do anything since i don't own a gaming asus laptop to crosscheck.

but with due diligence, i noticed your laptop model number looking similar to, well, this: https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?89061-GL702VM-amp-similar-Solution-to-Performance-issues-O...

i've read until page 30, and was thinking to myself... damn.
i wouldn't even try to overclock DRAM if i owned that laptop. and anyway! 2123 MHz vs 2400 MHz isn't that much of a difference. you probably won't notice it in gaming. (but of course, if anyone knows anything on how-to-OC the DRAM on that laptop, feel free to share)

Yeah the gain I've made with going from a CL of 17 to CL15 plus now that it's dual-channel makes a much bigger difference than the loss of 270mhz..

Without DRAM settings available in the BIOS I don't think I'll be able to change it.

I did do some before and after 3dMark test and I've picked up a solid 3-400 fire strike points.. (I get 13,758 on the default test)
