ROG-GL702VM
HM170 chipset, i5-6300HQ CPU, 8GB DDR4-2133, 6GB GTX1060, Win10 Home
8GB RAM is just too little these days. The WinOS itself bloats out to 4GB~8GB before even running a game.
Two SO-DIMM sockets, you might be able to add memory to an empty socket but if they're both filled you'll have to replace the existing memory.
Note that mobile GTX1060 is not as powerful as desktop GTX1060. It's probably also throttled by power and heat limits, at least when on battery.
Your Win10 likely came with the usual "value bundled" preinstalled OEM (ASUS) junkware. Not sure if this actually negatively impacts your performance, but it never helps.
I'd say your GL502VM model is not at all
VR Ready. It's below minimum hardware specifications.
The GL502VM models which come with i7-6700HQ CPU and 16GB (or more) DDR4-2133 are VR Ready. At minimum hardware specifications.
I think this is something between a technical oversight and zealous exaggeration/hype by ASUS marketing. Multiple GL502VM models offer a range of hardware options, yours is at the lower end.
