GL702VM CPU-Fan noise / grinding / rattling

Hi there,
I have my GL702VM for about a month now and about 1-2 weeks ago the CPU-Fan (or anything which gets into motion together with the CPU-Fan) randomly starts making weird rattling/grinding/whirring noises. This does not always happen but seems to occur when I move the laptop or so (and also goes away when moving it a bit around again). This makes me feel like theres something loose but I have no idea what that might be.
I already opened and checked everything and couldn't find anything that might be at fault.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hello Appuru
Maybe it's a lose axis of one of the fans?
If you are not sure what to do, I would recommend sending it for RMA.
Thank you

Hi there, thanks for the reply.
Could you maybe give further information about that? Could I fix it by myself or would I have to use another fan for it to actually work?

I just opened the bottom to have a look at the fan. The fan itself made no noise whatsoever when blowing into it for example.
Also when I try testing it with NotebookFanControl for example, the sound appears more prominent when at ~25-50% speed while the fan sounds pretty normal when at 100%.

Even with the bottom open I couldn't find a reason for the fan to make such a sound (and it still appeared when moved a bit)...

I already messaged the ASUS support about it and they only said that it's probably a problem with the fan (which I already said myself).
Since I need a notebook for work (and university) it'd be a bummer to have to RMA it and not get it back for over 1-2 weeks...
I'm kind of sad that ASUS doesn't even try to offer a replacement of any kind for that time (tbh almost anything would do, wouldn't have to be the same notebook or so) 😕

So I bought a new CPU-Fan via their official part reseller here in Germany... It took about 2 months till they had it in "store" to send it to me.
Now after another 6 months the GPU-Fan started doing the same. I already checked it and it might be due to the pressure when it's sitting on a hard surface. However, this should not happen, especially not as frequently as it happened for me 😕
Still RMA is not really an option since I need the notebook for work and ASUS does not offer replacements for that time frame.

Really disappointed in this after spending ~1.5k€ on it.
