Hi everyone, I bought my GL702VI-WB74, Windows 10, 16gb ram, NVidia gtx 1080, 256gb nvme ssd, and 1tb hdd, back in Feb of this year and it has performed so well I do not miss my old desktop. I use a Logitech g502 proteus plugged into the left side usb port.
Until about 3 weeks ago I noticed that while playing Neverwinter Nights 2 and Fallout 4 my mouse pointer would freeze in place or if I was turning would get stuck turning (also happens when moving forward, fell off a few buildings because of that) for about 3-7 seconds, keyboard and mouse are both unresponsive during this "hang," then it would work fine for about 2-5 minutes then repeat. It continued even when out of the game in Windows, only a complete shut down to cold restart would clear it up and then it comes back after 3 or so days. I do not use my laptop every day, so it does sit for days at a time before I use it again. I usually put the laptop to sleep, FN+Sleep command, while not in use and unplug from the power source.
Also, I have a small issue when awakening the laptop for use the screen comes on and I see the ASUS ROG logo then the screens shuts off and I usually have to cycle back to sleep and awake to get to the windows log in screen. This happens much less when using the sleep command versus the Windows sleep button in the start menu.
I have updated the bios, nvme drivers, and all other drivers are up to date. I also ran the windows ram checker, chddisk, and sfc scannow in command prompt.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
