Still running my ROG GL553VE in 2024 and, up until recently, have had no issues. A few months back I had a blue screen crash while playing a game. Fast-forward two months and the frequency of crashes has gotten to the point where it crashes every time I try to load a game.
This last week I found an article that recommended seeing I'd the game would load if I had the laptop unplugged. Sure enough, it booted up just fine and ran the fame without issue.
I decided to watch the cpu/ram temps and heat in real time while loading with the charger plugged in. Both redlined on the gpu and cpu once the game started loading. I unplugged the charger and instantly both systems went back to normal load numbers. Plug back in and back to redline numbers.
I've done clean installs of gpu drivers, power plan options, and every other solution I can find. I've also tested the charger voltage output which is giving 19.6v. Which should be fine?
Any ideas of what else I should be trying?
