[GL553VD] Keyboard Completely Dead Problem, no Lights, no Function

Hello guys,

I have the GL553VD for some months now and had no problems with it, until like a week ago.

The problem started as the keyboard backlights staying on, even after I shut down the laptop. Then like 2-3 days earlier, when I power on the machine in the mornings the keyboard lights started not working as well as the keyboard itself. Only the power button works. And today the keyboard is completely dead. No lights, no function.

The weird thing is, it is still showing up on the device manager as HID Keyboard, when I uninstall the drivers, windows reinstalls them again.

I checked the keyboard ribbons inside they look attached and everything else below the first set of screws look normal.

Any help would be appreciated I dont know what else I can do.

Can you enter bios screen using those keyboard during boot by pressing F2 ?

If not, try to remove the notebook battery and push power button like 15 to 30 seconds (make sure disconnect the charger as well). After that reconnect your notebook battery and test your notebook keyboard again, see if it work or not. If keyboard still not responsive, better sent to service center for check up.
