GL502VSK Insulator or Plastic Band protruding out of case

Hello all,

Recently I have noticed that there is a little plastic band or insulator that protrudes from the case of my laptop.

If you see the pictures, you'll see a small little "band" if you will, protruding from the case. This is where the top and bottom part of the case connect, as you can hopefully see. I shove it back in sometimes and it's fine, but it keeps on popping out and sometimes it's hard to shove back in. I'm slightly worried whether it is some sort of damage or not.

If you look at this teardown video it appears to be the end of a plastic tab for removing the hard drive. If so, it's completely harmless and maybe just a tiny bit longer than it needed to be. You could try pushing it in with a flat object and tucking it in up or down, pulling off the cover and adjusting it, or trimming it so it doesn't stick out.
