HQ is still taking care of our ASUS U.S. and Canadian requests for this issue, so if you have the GL502VS 6th gen cpu unit and want to go through the process, contact your local ASUS support for more information or to find out what options they can offer you as mentioned in the sticky thread below.

Unfortunately, I'm only able to provide help for U.S. and Canadian customers that run into any difficulties with our local ASUS support, but if there are any issues feel free to let us/MasterC (not really sure how much MasterC can help with this issue, but hopefully others can if he cannot) know, or you may want to post in the service section once you have contacted your local ASUS support and have a case number/RMA, but are not happy with your options.
It's expected your local ASUS support can offer a satisfactory resolution without more involvement from HQ, but if that's not the case, feel free to check around.

The lack of activity at this thread hopefully means that all those GL502VS 6th generation cpu customers unhappy about this issue have contacted their local ASUS support and found a satisfactory solution since we're not doing anything on our end to edit or stop the posts as far as I know.
We should probably be thanking Bahz for helping getting all this arranged before he left the ROG forums .
Thanks.

As ASUS have announced no technical fix or commitment to fix the root issue, I have not had the confidence in sending the laptop back (especially when the laptop is with me now in Europe instead of Australia (my original point of purchase)).
Regarding the class-action, this was posted a while back:

This issue has highlighted the commitment to customer satisfaction from ASUS - I am not impressed.*

Hi,
Thanks for the screenshot.
If the battery charge is above 95% though, it's usually normal and not uncommon to see the battery stop charging once it reaches 100% as mentioned in the FAQ below.
https://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1012793
The GL502VS/GL502VSK customers in this thread are reporting the battery charge dropping below 94% though while plugged in which isn't normal though, so a different issue than the 'normal battery discharging while plugged in' (above 95%) issue.
Hope this make sense.
