Anyhow I am wondering what would happen if I plug out my battery and try running high demanding game again. I am guessing laptop will shut down.

Hey guys..
A lot has been changed since I posted this topic..
After a few months of sending the machine over and over to the Support center, they finally (about a month ago) managed to give me my money back.
My machine has the 6th generation CPU.
Now, I really need a new laptop, that can handle my daily use, and won't have those kind of problems...
I really have no idea about which one I should get.
I was thinking about the GL502VS with the 7th generation CPU.. that is the best value for money laptop that I can buy in my area.
Do you have any other recommendations ?

Hi,
From all reports here, the GL502VSK has the same issue even with the 230w adapter. Buying it again is probably going to put you back in the same situation you were in again. Maybe some of the owners of that model can chime in.
Can you give us some details of how you were able to get your money back (how Asus responded each time, what was done, etc)? Did Asus finally admit that they were not able to fix the issue? Was it because of the numerous RMAs (like once you hit a certain amount they refund your money kind like a lemon law for cars?) If that's the case, it makes no sense to force customers to keep sending in a laptop over and over again if there is no known resolution just to meet requirements for a refund. I am getting very frustrated with the lack of information and communication from Asus. If you could give us some details, it could give others the option to get a refund as well. Thanks!

Hi,
So after reading a few comments in here and catching up with the topic, I realize that the problem of discharging might not be that bad, more than that, with the new 230W charger I think that even a small BIOS update can fix it.
I really thinking of buying the new version.. It's allover a good laptop and it beats every other laptop in this price range.
About the RMA: after about 5 months I managed to get them to realize that my machine was defected (both the back light bleed and the battery).
I have returned my machine to be checked at the seller's shop about six or five times before they were convinced that they should give me my money back..
What do you think?
I am in need of a new laptop and I have no idea what to do..

A small bios update can fix it ( according to some users of the GL502vs-VK laptop ) and honestly I'm willing to go with that ( If i had the 230w power supply to be able to test it out ( 180w supply here) ( - I actually asked the mods about this some time ago - still no answer) ) , problem is very few owners of this laptop have kept up with this forum thread - be it their issue was solved or they don't care anymore - but still after 40+ pages on the issue ASUS didn't come with an official answer.
While power discharge is a problem, temperatures are also. Because of the need of this laptop that I use for work right now,at the moment i close my eyes on the discharge problem - but still i have it. Bigger problem for me is temperatures, since 2 months i have turbo boost disabled ( resulting in 15%-20% performance drop), else my temps would reach 95C+ on CPU, and honestly i don't want to fry/burn anything inside, for such a price ( still very expensive for some , I want this to work for me for some years ).
To answer your question : get the latest version of this laptop ( with the condition that the seller allows refund within 2-4 weeks of purchase ) so you have the time to run any kind of test/benchmark/ or just see if this laptop is for you and if it has any problems.

I was the last to admit this was a problem. As you know I ran many bench marks, I stressed with the witcher 3, fuzzmark, etc etc and I couldn't expose this.
This weekend I flew out to a VR expo to show off my game, manastorm. The conference doors opened at 10am, and by noon my battery was at 30%, my cpu and gpu were throttled and my game was unplayable due to poor framerate and loss of tracking.
I'm selling this laptop and I will never buy another asus product again. I specifically spent money on a gaming laptop to show off my games at expos.
Also the keyboard and mouse absolutely suck. Who would want to game on a laptop with a keyboard like this.
Asus you either know what you did and you're a liar, or you don't know what you did and you're incompetent. Either way I can't do business with you.

Dude, have you tried installing CU update? I never tried using the VR so I dont know if it'll drain my battery that much but I noticed a lot of improvements after successfully installing the new windows. I mean the problematic heating was gone. After 2 hour gaming, battery dropped to 95% while plugged in.
Also, were you plugged?
