G835LX after Bios update CPU temp spikes

After updating to BIOS version 318 on my G835LX laptop, I'm seeing CPU temps suddenly spike to 99°C+ during gaming, which is causing noticeable FPS drops.

Things I've tried so far:

  • Attempted to roll back to a previous BIOS version via EZ-Flash, but it threw an error.

  • Did a clean reinstall of Windows 11 using a USB drive — issue persists.

Is anyone else experiencing this after the 318 BIOS update?
Would appreciate any suggestions or shared experiences. Thanks!

I do not have problem before bios update. I think it is just a software issue. why should i RMA

asus stops this nonsense with non-downgradeable bios, I am the owner of g814jv in 2023, I look at the topics of 2025 and I understand that this has not changed after 10 years. You, as defendants on the charge of bios, can go back through the programmer, but you will be surprised by checksums, driver errors and nvram errors. This is my last purchase of the Asus brand, the era has passed.

oh yeah, many errors usually absent from the factory image, but the holder noOS device can not always get these images. terrible support for the Asus software device! that is, to download the iso image, I have to find a Chinese person from wechat to check the verification of stable Windows with hieroglyphs instead of English? schizophrenia and not Asus.

Before the BIOS update, my G835LX was working without problems. After upgrading to version 318, the 5080 graphics card began to malfunction in various applications. The problems are completely different: sometimes a blue screen, sometimes an error in nvlddmkm, etc... I tried to reinstall the BIOS and Windows, I tried to install different NVIDIA drivers...However, problems persist...

experiment with wqhl certificate drivers instead of asus, or ms from the catalog windows updates.

Here I am 6 months fixing errors after bios downgrade (unofficial) and found that ISST driver from lenovo the same version that from the asus page works without interference. Then I found drivers AAF 6.0.8805.1 which redirects DAC to Realtek and it turned out to return HiFi quality. With video there can be similar tricks, the old version of the driver is better and more stable than the new ones (as a rule).

In 2025, we have a lot of enemies, a tpm module, and forced driver protection built into the bios. I wouldn't be surprised if in the future, with a click of a finger, our laptops would permanently shut down on a factory-set timer, forcing us to replace them every 3-6 months. We need more sales!
