G814jz lost use of special function keys...

My 2023 G814jz has lost use of the function keys on the top left of keyboard, things like the volume controls and the game speeds and mic mute. I have made a point of not updating any Asus software recently, I've had a bad experience with firmware updates before. The keys simply stopped having any effect when pressed. All other keys work fine. 

Any suggestions to try before Asus says "reload everything"?!

If you're not comfortable with using's ASUS's own uninstaller to get rid of Armoury Crate (and reinstall it) then you can follow this guide of mine on Reddit and disable AC while you try out G-Helper (open source AC replacement, much more stable and lightweight).

I understand this doesn't directly solve your issue but I promise you, G-Helper is a great improvement over AC and your special keys will definitely start working after you disable AC related stuff.
