Yup it was an old iso, (thanks microsoft forums)

I googled it and got exactly what I needed windows 7 with sp1 and it installed no problems! I just installed all the drivers (besides the extra fluff) and ran the windows performance test. 7.3 not bad at all! Thanks again for your hard work rewben! I found an answer in another thread by you suggesting it was an .iso problem.

This is what i did.

I bought my ASUS G75VW halfway through August this year (2012).
The hybrid drive was totally ok but i really wanted the speed of an SSD.
I bought the Samsung 830 Series 128 GB SSD

1: Installed SSD
2: Go Into BIOS and set DVD-Drive as Main Boot Device IMMEDIATLY AFTER installing my new SSD
3: Run your Windows 7 or OS DVD as soon as your PC Starts Up (if you're too slow you might have to restart it once)
4: Before installing Windows go into "Drive Options (Advanced)" which is a Win7 DVD Install Feature
5: Delete all of your data and create 2 new Storage Devices, i ended up with a 128 GB and a 750 GB Partition.
6: Install on your KNOWN SSD
7: After Installation take out your Win7 or OS DVD then go back into your BIOS and set your SSD as your Main Boot Device
8: Now you can begin Personalizing your PC, such as installing the programs and games you want.

Now keep in mind this worked for me, i CANNOT guarantee its gonna work for you, but considering we do have the same Laptop it should.
Good Luck.

nice, @Hamz. that's another way to do fresh install. but i would like to suggest that keep the stock drive for a little while, until the new system with SSD is stable. when something is wrong, you still can boot the machine with the stock drive; will help save some times with it.

I got a Samsung 840 on cyber monday. I was really debating the 840 vs 830 but since they were the same price I just went with the 840 even though people were experiencing some problems such as dead on arrival with it. No problems yet and it is quicker than the 830 in some respects.
