G74SX TrackPad Not Working

The trackpad doesnt work but the buttons do. I can click to open things but i cant use the track bad.

I wont be here for a while so please list a bunch of possible solutions.

If the unit isn't under warranty any more, or you're willing to void the warranty, you can try reseating the trackpad cable. If that doesn't do it, all the solutions tend to point to needing to send it in, because at a minimum the palm rest is likely going to need replacing.

I just bought this thing too, ffs. if i wanted to reseat the trackpad cable, would it involve dissasembling the entire unit?

Update: It works, it's just jumpy and laggy and doesnt responde unless i push hard.

That sounds like you've got a bad trackpad, and so probably the best thing to do is just send it in. Though I suppose you can try adjusting the sensitivity levels first, but I'm not thinking it'll help much.
