I was posting this few months ago (when I bought this laptop) but I haven't recieved answer that helped me.
Now I'm here again because it's pissing me off that I paid 1500€ for this laptop and I just can't enjoy lag-free gaming even in older games.
So here is my problem:
After few days after purchase laptop I recognized really huge FPS drops near smoke. I was like OK, I'm playing graphics intense games so I think it's normal. I was playing games like ArmA 2, Crysis 2, Crysis 1, Battlefield BC2, Battlefield 3. I was confused while playing because for example I had 50 FPS in huge firefight and then I fired from grenade launcher and booooom my FPS dropped to 15 - 25 FPS. That was happening in every explosion.
Now after few months I realized that I have FPS drops in every game near some particle effect. I mean huge FPS drops.
Even in old Warhammer 40k dawn of war 2 my FPS near some particle effect drops from 80 to crazy 18 FPS lol.
Anno 2070, Darksiders, Darksiders 2, Skyrim, Borderlands, Fallout 3, GTA IV and more.
Playing in low resolution like 1366*768 will cause drops to only like 30 FPS but you know, my laptop has 1920*1080 native and playing in this resolution is extremely blurry and its still huge 50 or more FPS drop. No matter if I change graphic settings to LOW. I don't think 50 FPS loss is normal during single explosion. Or like in Borderlands when I was shoothing in to water - drop from 60 to about 20 FPS. Or when aiming down the sights and shooting, again fps drop and my aim goes to hell...
Im running with 296.16 drivers, GPU OCed to 890/1780/1600. I just want to know if its just me or someone with G74SX has same problems?
My GPU is GTX 560M 3GB 192bit. And laptop version is 91310Z
