G74sx Louder than usual

Ive had my G74sx for about 8 months now, and I cant stop but notice how much louder my fans are than they used to be, and compared to my friends same exact laptop. Ive cleaned the intakes, made no difference, but when opening the back plate, I realized that the video card is slightly discolored... too scared to open it up, but could this indicate some problem? (Ive attached the best picture I can take of it.)

BTW my graphic card temperatures range from 70c-75c when gaming, 52c at iddle.

Discoloration is normal in metals due to changes in temperature , which is what happens in a laptop. About the noise, because of the constant operation of the fans, they lose lubrication (sometimes because of dust) and as a consequence they experience something called rotating unbalance, which leads to the noise , and this is louder when you are using your pc under load.

I tell you this, because it was my experience with a laptop I had. So my recomendation is that if you are able to disassemble your pc (http://btoforums.com/showthread.php?t=3525) you should clean your fans and lubricate them (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAGP_ZCcMvk). If you don't fell sure about how do this, you should take your g74 to a technical service. I hope to help you in some way.

Thanks... good to know the discoloration is normal, and that was my guess about the fans, though im kind of scared of fixing it myself, I wonder if this could fall under warranty?

I don't think that warranty covers that kind of problems, maybe if fans stop working and you start seeing crashes because of abnormal temperatures, but according to the information you provide, temperatures seem to be normal. However If you can, it would be very good for you to ask directly to ASus about the warranty coverage.
