G73JH BIOS Recommendations?

Hi,

I'm currently running the BIOS that came stock with G73JH, version 205.

There have been several updates:

From looking around on the forums, I've seen that some versions are favored over others. I'm wondering what the current favored BIOS is.

Which posts are you referring to? I don't think there have been any issues with the latest version.
A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station…

You know, I can't find any of the posts. I checked here and the AMD Game Forums and can't find what I was remembering. I guess it was some time ago, but there were people saying stay away from this BIOS, or only use this BIOS.

It doesn't matter, since I can't find it. It's good to hear the latest are considered good.

Thanks for being, apparently, the only active person on these forums and answering my recent questions. I really appreciate it.

I was just the first one to see your posts. We have several other members who are quite competent and would have answered instead if they had seen your thread first. 🙂

Thanks for the info. I also purchased mine through BestBuy. Is this the driver thread you're talking about?

http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?774-G73jh-vBios-update-tutorial-for-GSOD-matter.

I'm already running the latest ati drivers, but I have not updated my vbios. I had not even thought to do so. I suspect that I got my notebook late enough that it shipped with the updated vbios, since I have not had a GSOD issue.

Thanks for the response and information.

Does anyone know if there's a similar thread that provides a tutorial on updating the regular BIOS?

You will have to alter the laptop model# and BIOS version, but http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?11080-BrodyBoy-simple-but-effective-.pdf-guide.-on-quot-Upd... provides a guide to using the Easy Flash utility in the BIOS to perform BIOS updates.

Be aware - If the BIOS file exists both on an NTFS partition on your HDD and on the Flash drive, you could end up choosing the wrong drive letter in Easy Flash. It is best to make sure the BIOS file exists only on the Flash drive to avoid any confusion.
