I recently downloaded CPU-Z to benchmark my processor and was shocked to learn that my RAM was only operating at 2666 MHz despite having an OEM speed of 3200 MHz. I thought I could maybe solve the issue by going into the BIOS, but I was greeted by a pathetically weak UI with barely any options. This is extremely troubling being that I spent a fortune on this machine. Is there really no option to tweak anything outside of Armory Crate? This is practically insulting. Did some brainiac really slap 3200 sticks in there and then BIOS-lock them to 2666?
Before someone leaves a snarky comment about the lack of overclocking abilites with notebooks, I want to state that I've been using gaming notebooks for years. I am fully aware that the options are limited. I just find it absolutely ridiculous that some Asus QA checker would look at this and give it an approval... I wonder how many other RAM sticks were wasted on mobos that couldn't support them on way or another.
