Under Windows 11 I get very variable and inconsistent speed to copy even a small 2 GB file between 2 USB drives. It drops dead to 900 KB/S for example.
I then realized it is a system wide problem accessing files. If I have a portable app on a USB drive, if I run it, it may slow down for 30 seconds and then start.
I did some search, some say it's Win 11 doing it.
When I was installing Win 11 from a USB disk, it obviously didn't see the internal SSD and I had to disable VMD in bios for the installer to see the SSD. People say VMD is for Raid and it's ok to disable it.
Could that be the cause? I have no Raid but should I reinstall Win 11 with VMD enabled?
