hi there,
On the G46vw there is a key combination to enable or disable the touch-pad. I have tried this and it does not work. All of the other fn+ keys work correctly (e.g backlit keyboard, volume, mute, brightness etc).
This makes playing games pretty much impossible! The wrists or clothes touch the touch-pad and the cursor flys away and I end up shooting in the wrong direction.
I have tried
TouchFreeze as a work around, but sadly on one game it disables the touchpad and mouse buttons whilst using the keyboard, so I can only shoot whilst stationary LOL. ( The game is Xonotic).
I tried to disable the touch-pad in Device Manager, but the Disable button is grayed out. The driver is a Microsoft PS2 compatible mouse.
The installed O/S is the pre-installed one : Windows 8 basic/home edition.
1) Is the mouse driver noted above correct for the G46?
2) How can I disble the touchpad?
3) How can I get the fn+f9 button to work as Asus intended?
Cheers, s.
