G18 - Keyboard hotkeys shortcuts stopped working.. again

After BIOS 324 or latest Armoury Crate, the keyboard top hotkeys (volume, profiles, mic, etc.) work for a while but then stop working when either leaving it idle or putting laptop to sleep. I think it's putting laptop to sleep for 8 hours or so. It happens maybe after the second time.

This annoying bug is only fixed by a restart and Asus previously had fixed it with BIOS 321. Again, I don't know if it's caused by BIOS 324 because they launched an Armoury Crate update and something else also updated in Armoury Crate after BIOS 324 and this issue began again after BIOS 324.

Very annoying that they can't get these things right.

When I go to customizable hotkeys in Armoury Crate, it says "pre-requisite update" and when I click ok it takes me to the update center. Sigh. There's no update of course. I thought a restart would fix it but no, it keeps saying pre-requisite update and I cannot customize them! Even after uninstalling Armoury Crate with the uninstall tool and manually, and reinstalling it all and restarting multiple times. Horrible software development. I recall having issues with their software in 2019 too.

Why do I have to put up with this? Mine are customized and would like them functioning. One of the reasons why I like Asus laptops, the extra keys (that nearly all laptops had in the past but decided to remove them). Asus ROG don't have fn-lock for some weird reason so this is really needed. I learned that GHelper has fn-lock.

I'm putting it out there to pressure Asus into fixing this. Hope anyone else has the issue to complain to them. I'll be contacting them about it to report it.

Edit: They finally fixed it. Go to Armoury Crate > Settings > Update Center and update to version 1.2.3 of Customizable Hotkeys.

Same issue, same laptop, same garbage software.  This is nonsense not sure how they get away with this incompetence for years.

Good luck, but unfortunately Asus' support process is worthless and a complete waste of time. Keep in mind this software has been broken garbage literally for years. They can do nothing, they will do nothing - assuming you even get a support rep that can tie their own shoes or speak English.

The thing is, they fixed it last year after breaking it a few months before that. Now they broke it again. I can't even customize them, frustrating having to fn+f7/f8 for screen brightness. I had set those to the custom hotkeys before. I change screen brightness numerous times per day.

The live chat I had with Asus was positive. The person was kind, understood the issue, and created a support case. Let's see if they follow up in a positive way.

Anyone else having a keyboard problem of a key getting stuck every once in a while? For example, typing a word, and a letter gets stuck and keeps adding itself, kind of like this "ssssssssssss".

Started happening after their "update" to the keyboard firmware in January 2024. I even think the mouse is moving on its own (possible touchpad ghosting) sometimes. This is wild. They launch an update that actually ruins things, and also ruining the hotkey customization. Makes you wonder who's the developer.

I can't even open the customizable hotkeys tab in armory crate app. I seriously need help with this. I bought the laptop 2 days ago and I'm already facing issues

They finally fixed it. Go to Armoury Crate > Settings > Update Center and update to version 1.2.3 of Customizable Hotkeys. They launched it today Feb 26, 2024.

It fixed the Armoury Crate app for me but the hotkeys are still not working for me on my laptop. I rebooted tried hitting the reset to defaults and nothing is making the key work.
