Fans not working (Strix g16)

The fans don't work, it thermal throttles and gets super slow until i open myasus and test fans, it then goes to 3000 rpm and has no issues

(I have updated everything from settings, my asus and armoury crate)

Are you using CPU undervolt in Bios?

If yes try again without CPU undervolt to see if it solves your issue.

If yes, then use a less aggressive undervolt setting.

I'm not exactly sure what undervolt is but I believe i have found a solution... i usually hit the power button when leaving it, and when it wakes up the fans are off pemanently, however when i restart it the fans turn on and work great (3900 rpm idle) 5400rpm running my usuall programs)

Whilst I don't know what the specs for the fans on your model are, 3000rpm in myasus still sounds way too low. So to me sounds more like a fan issue. Don't know what your fan curves are either so it's hard to say.

Also your system fan is at 0 rpm there. So that seems like it's full dead, or your curves are terrible, since that's over the pch and that ****** is always hot, as asus couldn't bother to find a way to stick a heat sink on it. For the future, it helps to stick a thermal pad between it and the system fan, so it transfers some heat. Also, if the system fan is dead it should really make the other 2 ramp up faster.

What does the diagnostic in myasus say? Since it should be able to tell if the fans are bad. Could be that something else is causing it.

Could be an issue with windows sleep mode/hibernate then, or how it interacts with armory crate/whatever you're using to control the fans. Not sure if it's a common issue since I usually shut down the laptop... but yeah, in that case it can't be the fans or anything like it.

You could try restarting armory crate/g-helper and see if they start working without restarting the whole laptop, since it could be they don't get woken with the rest of the laptop.

Thank you!

Thank you very much!
